Portland Bridges Progress
Spent some time this past week dressing the loom for my Portland Bridges project. So nice to have let it sit for a bit, jumping back in has been very exciting, and I love the process of threading the warp and assigning the heddles, it’s methodical and meticulous, but meditative.
I used a fun recycled jeans yarn for the warp, composed of a cotton/poly blend, so it will hold up to the rigors needed for holding tension in the warp, and the lovely blues are great for an idyllic reference to The Willamette River.
Winding the shuttles for the weft is also so fun, the wool is a selection of naturally hand-dyed wool from Wool & Palette, the colors are so wonderful, they fit perfectly with the parameters of project, I cannot wait to see how the structured panels shape up!
